Tester Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Process

IDEAL offers calibration and repair services for IDEAL Electrical and DataComm Testers to both IDEAL distributors and end-users. A number of service options are available, with costs based on the warranty status and type of service/repair required. After filling out the form below, follow the instructions provided with the RMA confirmation to begin the repair process. If returning more than one product, complete a separate form for each unit to be returned.

In Warranty Products

If the product returned is covered by the original IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC. (IDEAL) manufacturer's warranty, repairs and return shipping costs will be covered by IDEAL. Annual calibrations, batteries, fuses, and test leads are not covered under warranty.

Out of Warranty Products

If the product is out of warranty due to the expiration of the warranty period or there is a fault that is not due to a manufacturer's defect, we will provide you with an estimate of the costs for repair, replacement or re-calibration, based on the service price list above. If you decline service, you will be subject to a minimum charge for inspection and handling of $40 plus return shipping. Customer payment is due when services are provided and will become delinquent 30 days after the service invoice date. Any product left in IDEAL’s facility over 45 days will be considered abandoned and will become the property of IDEAL for disposal at our discretion.

Warranty Statement

IDEAL test tools are warranted to the original purchaser against defects in material and workmanship for the period identified in the operator's manual from the date of purchase. During this warranty period, IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC. will, at its option, replace or repair the defective unit, subject to verification of the defect or malfunction. This warranty does not cover fuses, batteries, test leads, or damage from abuse, neglect, accident, unauthorized repair, alteration, or unreasonable use of the instrument.

Any implied warranties arising out of the sale of an IDEAL product, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the above. The manufacturer shall not be liable for loss of use of the instrument or other incidental or consequential damages, expenses, or economic loss, or for any claim or claims for such damage, expenses or economic loss. State laws vary, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.
